05 May 2010: Making Local Food Work launches new research report - 'Local food and climate change - The role of community food enterprises'

Community food enterprises are businesses run by communities for their benefit, which are involved in at least one part of growing, harvesting, processing, distributing, selling or serving local food. Community food enterprises include farmers’ markets, Community Supported Agriculture enterprises, community-owned shops, food co-operatives and much more.
Making Local Food Work can help community food enterprises across England with some of the challenging aspects of running a business. We have a range of mentors and specialists which can help you with a range of issues whether this is developing a business plan, a marketing plan, putting in place a legal structure and governance arrangement or ensuring that you are complying with the latest legislation. We also work to map local food networks across England.
