A highly participative workshop to simulate the early planning stages of a community food enterprise. The workshop will explore the issues, factors and good practice relating to the start-up process of a typical community food enterprise, with particular focus on choosing the correct structure.

A practical hands-on workshop around tools and techniques to assess the governance health of any community enterprise.
This course is particularly aimed at development workers but may also be suitable for the members of the governing body of a community enterprise.
The day will explore some real governance problems experienced by community food enterprises and possible solutions. The workshop will also include the practical use of a governance audit tool.
This event is being run in co-operation with SEASON.

An overview of the structures, systems and processes concerned with running a sustainable community food enterprise.
Suitable for development workers and members of the governing body of a community food enterprise.
This workshop demystifies the various types and typical contents of governing documents and how this relates to the wider governance of the organisations, be they unincorporated, companies or societies.
We will also explore some real governance problems of community food enterprises and practical solutions to those problems.
You will get much more from this training session if you have already attended our Simply Legal training, although it is not essential.

The Simply Legal training day is an exploration of the common legal forms used by community food enterprises. We examine and discuss the issues determining which structure is appropriate for different types of enterprise with reference to case studies and real examples.
The day also includes a practical “select a structure” exercise simulating the process of choosing the structure of a community food enterprise.

A practical and engaged interactive workshop examining what is communication and why we communicate, the impact of poor communication and how we can all do it better. It is suitable for everyone who wants to improve the way they interact within their work or home environment.
This workshop is run in partnership with Groundwork North West's Target:Wellbeing programme.

Our workshops are full days - from 10am to 4pm with lunch provided and are free of charge if you are part of, associated to, or assisting with the development of a community food enterprise. A charge of £50 plus VAT will apply to other individuals wishing to attend.
There is a high demand for workshops, therefore, if you book a place and do not attend (without giving at least 48 hours notice to 0161 246 2907) you will be charged a cancellation fee of £50 per person to cover food and administrative costs.
