Making Local Food Work Good Food, Good Governance Training Days

The Co-operativesUK Good Food, Good Governance Team, as a partner in the Making Local Food Work programme, is organising further interactive training and advice workshops to help community food enterprises to operate in an accountable, efficient and democratic way.

And with just three Good Food, Good Governance training days left before Christmas 2009, we wanted to send a quick reminder to ensure you don’t miss out!

Over the next few months, we will be running Governance and Legal Structures training days across the country in the following cities:

Sheffield – 17 November at The Circle

Newcastle – 25 November at Ouseburn City Farm

Brighton – 9 December at Jubilee Library

In these sessions we will explore legal structures and governance arrangements for community food enterprises.

Our workshops are full days - from 10am to 4pm with lunch provided - and are free of charge if you are part of, associated to, or assisting with the development of a community food enterprise. A charge of £50 plus VAT will apply to other individuals wishing to attend.

Places for the training days are limited, so if you would like to attend, please visit the website at www.mlfw.co.uk/training  to book your place now! Alternatively, please contact Legal and Project Support Officer, Zena King, on 0161 246 2953 or Zena.King@cooperatives-uk.coop.

Our annual training programme for 2010 has now been created; it ties in with our forthcoming publications and will include workshops entitled Simply Legal and Simply Governance along with further workshops dealing with a range of specific governance issues.

Please confirm by emailing Zena that you would like to be included in our mailing list to receive details of further training.

Many thanks and we look forward to seeing you soon!
