Merry Christmas from Making Local Food Work

Jennifer Smith, Head of Programme Management for Making Local Food Work, wishes you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

“2011 has been yet another fantastic year for Making Local Food Work.  I’d like to say a massive thank you to all staff, consultants, mentors and associates who have shared their energy and expertise to support so many community food enterprises.  Through our joint work we have now supported 1,312 groups---this is double our original target.

“For me, I’m daily amazed at the accomplishments of so many of the local community enterprises we’ve had the opportunity to support.  In the year, we’ve been able to look into several issues that are prevalent to the sector, including understanding the needs of customers and developing guidance on how to better understand the social impact of community food enterprises.  These tools and materials are freely accessible on the Making Local Food Work website and we hope will be useful to many.  We’ve also had a chance to host many events up and down the country to not only provide training and guidance, but also the needed networking time for groups to share their own thoughts with like-minded people.

“We look forward to continuing our relationships with you in 2012; while this is the final year of our programme, we hope the knowledge and support gained through our work will help your work thrive in the coming months and years.”
